At the end of last year I signed up and paid for six months membership (£79) of an online dating agency. I was unhappy with the company and phoned in May to say that I did not want to renew my membership. They have however now taken a further sum of £79 for another six months membership. I phoned to ask for a refund saying that I had cancelled and that payment had not been authorised by myself. I have now asked them to close my account which they have done but will not return the money. They said that when I signed up in the small print I had signed to agree that the company could take the next six months membership as and when required. My bank say they cannot reclaim the money. How do I get the money back from on the dating company?
