Default Old HBOS Loan and PPI

Hello all,

I am wanting to claim back PPI on an old Bank of Scotland Loan. I cannot remeber when the loan was taken out but it was at least 4 or 5 years ago.

We took the loan out for various things like consolidation and diy. I believe we had PPI with this. A while later we wanted some more money so we went to bank of Scotland again. We borrowed enough to pay off the previous loan and had some left over for whatever we needed it for. Again we took out PPI. So this loan now has two lots of PPI.

We have claimed on the loan that we have now so I know we cant go for reclaiming on that but I do want to reclaim on the last loan. I have no details though and it was a previous address.

Any ideas on how we can recalim this

Olives xx

Hello Olive.Family (nice name BTW )

The first step is to send a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) using the template which is to be found in the PPI Stickies: Full S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) for ppi

In doing this you can request a true copy of the Credit Agreement as signed by you, the Terms & Conditions of the loan in particular those relating to the PPI element of the loan and any exclusion clauses, and also a transcript of any telephone calls relating to the selling of he PPI to you.

Do you think that you have a case for mis-selling of the PPI? Did you understand exactly what was included and excluded within the policy that was sold to you, was it explained to you that there were other similar products available and the what were the prices of these compared to what you would be paying for the HBOS PPI? Do you feel that you made an informed choice based upon whether the HBOS product suited your needs and circumstances? If you had known that there were similar cheaper alternatives to the HBOS PPI available to you, would you have chosen to purchase it?
