If you want to contact Halifax by email then here is a link.

https://www.halifax-online.co.uk/help/public/umhelpemail.asp?ra=

It is merely goes to an email distribution centre but there is no reason why you shouldn't use this link to request statements under the DPA or even to send letters before action.

If you can mark it for the attention of a praticular individual then so much the better.

Thank you for your e-mail of 19th January 2006.

Please call Bank Account Servicing on 08457 20 30 40 where an advisor will be happy to discuss your query in detail. Our lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Alternatively any branch can assist.

I am confident that whichever option you choose one of our expert advisors will be able to help.

Regards

I should continue to email and to put the name of the addressee in the subject line.

It's up to them if they deal with your correspondence or not. If they don't then you take it as a refusal and move on to the nexxt step.

They will "get it" sooner or leter

Hi there

Just to let you know it is worth using email , as I sent an email to the halifax saturday night, and recieved a reply today saying that I would be contacted soon. They replied within the 48hrs as stated, and did n't try to fob me off - so now I'm just waiting.....

I tried the link about a week ago, and the response from them was that this e-mail service was for people wanting help to navigate around the web site banking area. They gave me the standard telephone banking number to call. Not sure if the reply was a brush off or a genuine redirect to another unhelpful forum at the halifax! Nevertheless, I went straight to the branch after telephone banking were equally unhelpful. The promise of an e-mail to my branch never materialised. Good to see we have responsible people in charge of our money.
